Resolution reported, That for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to increase the rates of sickness and disablement benefit and the rates of contribution payable under the Acts relating to National Health Insurance, to extend the said Acts to persons employed otherwise than by way of manual labour at a rate of remuneration exceeding two hundred and fifty pounds a year, and in connection therewith to amend the Acts relating to widows', orphans' and old age contributory pensions and certain other enactments, and to enable any of the Acts aforesaid to be adapted by regulations to wartime conditions, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any increase, resulting from the operation of the said Act of the present Session, in expenditure which is authorised to be so defrayed under or by virtue of the National Health Insurance Acts, 1936 to 1939, the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Acts, 1936 to 1940, the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1934, the Old Age Pensions Act, 1936, or Part II of the Old Age and Widows Pensions Act, 1940.
