HC Deb 17 July 1941 vol 373 c709
2. Lieut.-Colonel Sir Thomas Moore

asked the Minister of Labour how many labour disputes there are at the present moment in any part of Scotland; what is their nature; and what steps are being taken to settle them?

The Minister of Labour (Mr. Ernest Bevin)

According to my information, there was on 14th July one dispute involving interruption of work in Scotland. This dispute, in which 400 workers were concerned, began on 14th July, following a decision by the employer to stop Sunday work. Work was resumed on the following day.
