HC Deb 10 July 1941 vol 373 cc304-5
32. Mr. G. Strauss

asked the Minister of Health, whether he will extend the scheme whereby the services of doctors of Allied and friendly nationality are employed in certain hospitals and institutions to cover those few doctors resident in Great Britain who have obtained their degrees in Switzerland, Sweden and other neutral countries?

Mr. E. Brown

The question of making a further order under Defence Regulation 32B so as to include the classes of doctors referred to by my hon. Friend is receiving consideration.

Mr. Strauss

Has this proposal the sympathy of the right hon. Gentleman?

Mr. Brown

I am discussing it with the Home Office Medical Advisory Committee and the Foreign Office. There are, however, complications as quite a number of countries are concerned.
