§ 59. Mr. Loftusasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been drawn to the recommendation adopted by the Economic Stabilisation Conference inaugurated by the. Prime Minister of New Zealand, on 4th September, 1940, and which comprised delegates representing employers, farmers and trade unionists, and which recommended the stabilisation of salaries, wages, rents and of the prices of essential foodstuffs, essential standard articles of clothing and household necessities and public services, fuel and light; and whether he will consider convening a similar conference in this country?
