HC Deb 03 July 1941 vol 372 cc1475-6
29. Mr. Mander

asked the Home Secretary whether he can make any statement about the question which was raised with him recently of admitting members of the public to inquiries by coroners under Defence Regulation 30A concerning certain deaths due to war operations?

Mr. H. Morrison

Yes, Sir. Following consultation with the Minister of Information and the Press, the Regulation has now been amended, and no longer requires that these inquiries should normally be held in private. Arrange- ments have been made whereby any Press reports of such inquiries will be submitted for censorship before publication.
