HC Deb 02 July 1941 vol 372 cc1356-7
67. Lieut.-Colonel Heneage

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he can make a statement on the subject of the supply of mechanical excavators for drainage purposes to catchment boards, other draining authorities and war agricultural committees, in view of the increasing demands for these appliances?

The Minister of Agriculture (Mr. R. S. Hudson)

I am purchasing a considerable number of excavators to be operated by county war agricultural executive committees and by drainage authorities who are co-operating with them in the execution of agricultural drainage work, and I hope to place further orders in accordance with the requirements of the Committees.
