HC Deb 22 January 1941 vol 368 c160
26. Mr. Tinker

asked the Minister of Information what steps have been taken to make known in other countries the speech made, on 11th December, 1940, at Baltimore, now printed in a White Paper [Cmd. 6239], by the late Marquess of Lothian, His Majesty's Ambassador at Washington?

Mr. Cooper

This speech was given world-wide publicity by the B.B.C., by the various news agencies and by the British Official Wireless Service. Guidance telegrams on the subject were sent to all posts in foreign countries. Arrangements are in hand for the despatch of copies of the White Paper to these posts, to information officers throughout the Colonial Empire and to various other British officials overseas.

Mr. Tinker

I am glad to hear what the right hon. Gentleman has done; the speech was a splendid contribution and should be known all over the world.
