§ 7. Major Sir Jocelyn Lucasasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that members of the public who are desirous of offering hospitality to British and overseas troops, are advised to obtain the addresses of local welfare offices from their post offices, but that when they apply they are informed that the post office knows nothing of the scheme, and has no knowledge of the addresses; and whether he will take immediate steps to set this matter right in conjunction with the postal authorities?
§ Captain MargessonI think that the advice to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers must have been due to some misapprehension. Anyone who desires to ascertain the address of a local welfare officer should communicate with the County Territorial Army Association whose address and telephone number can be found in the telephone directory.
§ Sir Joseph NallIs my right hon. and gallant Friend aware that this system of hospitality is going on very well in the counties, and that if some War Office liaison officers do not interfere too much it will go on very much better?
§ Mr. Robert GibsonIs it not possible to get this information from the police?
