HC Deb 21 January 1941 vol 368 c26
52. Lord Apsley

asked the Prime Minister whether any arrangements have been made by His Majesty's Government in collaboration with the Italian Government to evacuate women and children from Abyssinia, Eritrea and Somaliland?

The Prime Minister

No, Sir. Any suggestions of this character should surely come from the Italian Government or from its commanders on the spot. It would not in any case be possible to interrupt the operations which are now in progress.
