HC Deb 27 February 1941 vol 369 cc634-5
65. Mr. R. Gibson

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that there is a shortage of pails for stirrup pumps in Greenock and elsewhere in Scotland; that there are ample supplies of such pails in the hands of the wholesale warehouses; and what steps he proposes to take to enable these pails to be available to retailers and citizens of Greenock and elsewhere?

Captain Waterhouse

I would refer the hon. and learned Member to the reply given on 28th January to the hon. Member for Broxtowe (Mr. Cocks) and on 25th February to the hon. and learned Member for North Edinburgh (Mr. Erskine Hill). I am sending him a copy of these replies and of an announcement by the Ministry of Home Security. I have not had any previous complaint from Greenock, but if, when the hon. and learned Member has seen the documents I am sending to him, further inquiries are necessary, I shall be happy to arrange for them to be made.
