HC Deb 19 February 1941 vol 369 cc160-1
65. Sir L. Lyle

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the number and nature of complaints of waste and extravagance which have been brought to the notice of the Treasury, and which have been investigated?

Captain Crookshank

I presume that the hon. Member has in mind what my right hon. Friend said in the House on this subject on 6th February. I am afraid that no central record is available of the miscellaneous complaints which have been made in the course of day-today correspondence. My right hon. Friend has already made it clear that all are investigated in consultation with the Department concerned.
