HC Deb 19 February 1941 vol 369 c153
48. Mr. Price

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the importance of increasing the supply of cheese for mining districts and for agricultural workers, he will take steps to nave a certain quantity of surplus milk; this spring made into cheese?

Major Lloyd George

Each year a substantial proportion of the milk which is surplus to liquid requirements is manufactured into cheese. During 1941 my noble Friend is arranging for a considerably increased proportion of such surplus milk to be made into cheese.
