§ Mr. PeakeI regret that the figures for the whole of the year 1940 are not yet available, but during the first four months the number of persons under 17 found guilty of indictable offences by courts of summary jurisdiction was 14,842. I have no information as to how many of the young offenders appeared more than once before the courts.
