Friend the Prime Minister has every sympathy with my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion, the advantages to be gained from increasing 1669 the number of bands have to be considered in relation to the man-power situation and the shortage of instruments. Apart from the very numerous private bands which units are encouraged to form, there are at present over 100 authorised Service bands, and the fullest possible use is made of them.
