Friend appreciates the importance of keeping the maximum number of wireless sets in commission, subject to the overriding claims of the Services, and hopes to ensure that a sufficient supply of suit- 1538 able valves will be available. The present production of most types of British valves should shortly be sufficient to meet the home maintenance demand, and the possibility of importing any necessary balance of valves of American types is under consideration.
