75. Mr. David Adamsasked the Undersecretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware of the general demand in British Honduras for representative government upon the basis of adult suffrage; and whether his Department is encouraging and furthering this proposed constitutional reform?
§ Mr. George HallNo, Sir. My Noble Friend is not aware of any demand in British Honduras for representative government upon the basis of adult suffrage. He does not propose to take any steps in the matter at present.
Mr. AdamsIf I send the Minister details which have been sent to me in regard to this general demand, will he look at them?
§ Mr. MathersIs it not the policy of the Department to further efforts of this kind?
§ Mr. HallIt would be expected, if there were a demand, that the Colonial Office would have heard of it, but no demand has been made for this reform.
