asked the Minister of Labour whether, as he is now calling up older men who have, for the most part, built up businesses and professions, he will provide for a longer period of time for lodging postponement applications prior to medical examination?

Mr. Bevin

There is already power to accept an application for a postponement certificate at any time before an enlistment notice takes effect, provided the application has not been unreasonably delayed, and this power is exercised in appropriate cases.
