§ 26. Sir H. Williamsasked the Home Secretary whether he has considered the copy sent to him of a newspaper similar to, and edited by the same staff as, the "Daily Worker"; and if he proposes to extend the ban on the "Daily Worker" to this paper?
§ Mr. H. MorrisonThe existing prohibition already applies to any newspaper which is in continuation of or in substitution for the "Daily Worker." If there should be any repetition of a publication of the kind referred to by my hon. Friend, the question of taking appropriate action for the enforcement of the law would have to be considered.
§ Sir H. WilliamsWould it not be more dignified to remove the ban than to permit this document to be published which is called the "Worker" and produced by the staff of the "Daily Worker"?
§ Mr. MorrisonThe Government have no intention of removing the ban.
§ Sir H. WilliamsIs it going to be enforced against this paper?
§ Mr. MorrisonAppropriate legal action will be taken when it is expedient and properly advised.
