asked the Minister of Transport whether, in order to diminish the prevailing traffic congestion which prevents the proper transport of war workers at certain hours, he has considered the desirability of an adjustment in the time of opening and closing of shops and business premises, the transit of whose employés during the hours indicated is a material cause of the existing traffic situation?

I have been asked to reply. I have no information showing that transport difficulties would at the present time be substantially relieved by any change in the opening and closing hours of shops and business premises, but if my hon. Friend will send me information about any particular case he has in mind, I shall be glad to inquire into it.
