HC Deb 10 April 1941 vol 370 cc1670-1
14. Mr. J. Griffiths

asked the Minister of Labour what provision is made for the provision of suitable work for those men discharged from the Forces, and in whose cases no pension has been awarded; whether these provisions include training for work suitable to their capacity; and whether he will give details of any such scheme?

Mr. Bevin

If men discharged from the Forces, whether or not they are in receipt of pensions, will apply at the Employment Exchanges, every effort will be made to find them suitable employment, or, so far as they are suitable, to provide them with training under the existing training schemes. As indicated in the Answer I gave to the hon. Member for Central Southwark (Mr. Martin) on 3rd April, arrangements are being made to provide special courses of training for those who, because of disablement, cannot take up immediate employment or are not suitable for the ordinary training courses.
