HC Deb 03 April 1941 vol 370 c1153
33. Mr. Mander

asked the Minister of Health whether he will consider the advisability of making arrangements for special food, such as eggs and fruit, to be supplied to children needing it for health reasons, through the clinics or some public agency, with a view to making it unnecessary for mothers with children, who are ill and require attention, to stand for hours in queues?

Mr. E. Brown

I have been in consultation with my Noble Friend the Minister of Food, and I understand that he has under consideration the special needs of young children for such foods.

Mr. Mander

Can my right hon. Friend say when a definite statement will be made as to the arrangements?

Mr. Brown

I cannot say that. My hon. Friend will understand that this is really a responsibility of my Noble Friend, but I thought the hon. Member would be glad to have the information I have given.
