HC Deb 03 April 1941 vol 370 c1162
50. Sir J. Mellor

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been drawn to the position of Canadians who are serving in United Kingdom Forces and, owing to exchange regulations, are unable to remit part of their pay to dependants in Canada; and whether he will seek an arrangement with the Canadian Government for some special provision of exchange to relieve this hardship?

Captain Crookshank

Yes, Sir, Arrangements are being made whereby Canadians resident in Canada, who have come to this country for war service, should be in a position to arrange for remittances to be made for the support of dependants in Canada.
