Friend's suggestion has been carefully considered, but a serious objection to it is that at crossroads provided with traffic light signals pedestrians are not fully protected from turning traffic when the green light is showing towards them. At certain signal installations "Cross Now" signals are in operation, but these are feasible only where an interval free from all crossing vehicles can be guaranteed. This is often a difficult matter to arrange from a traffic point of view.
Mr. AdamsWould the Minister consider the desirability of operating this during the black-out at controlled crossing only?
