HC Deb 02 April 1941 vol 370 c1004
55. Mr. R. C. Morrison

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is aware that the Watford Co-operative Society is unable to obtain spare parts for essential food vehicles; that seven vehicles are standing idle, and the milk service to schools may have to be discontinued; and whether he will take steps to secure priority in the supply of spare parts for food vehicles?

Major Lloyd George

I understand that all the vehicles of the Watford Co-operative Society at the ration strength are drawing their petrol rations, and I assume therefore, that none of them are immobilised through inability to obtain spare parts. If, however, these vehicles should be in need of spare parts, every endeavour will be made to obtain them through the Ministry of Transport, in accordance with the new arrangements made with that Department.
