asked the Home Secretary whether he will consider making a regulation requiring visitors arriving at hotels and signing hotel registration forms as British subjects to produce their registration identity cards, failure to comply being reported to the police?

Does my right hon. Friend recognise that although a certain amount of inspection is necessary, it should be kept at a minimum and not pressed unduly?
