Mr. Craven-Ellisasked the Prime Minister whether the newly appointed Minister of Works and Buildings will be vested with authority enabling him to recommend to Parliament amendments to the Restriction of Ribbon Development Act, 1935, of which Section 1 permits land to be sterilised for a contemplated road which may never be proceeded with; and, if it is, undue delay is incurred before a final decision is taken and compensation paid which in the meantime causes owners of land considerable inconvenience and financial hardship?
