HC Deb 16 October 1940 vol 365 c700
45. Mr. Mander

asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider the advisability of requesting the economic section of the League of Nations now at Princeton, United States of America, to study and report on the economic measures required for the transition period from war to peace in the period immediately after the war, and for general economic reconstruction in the post-war world?

The Lord Privy Seal (Mr. Attlee)

This matter has already been considered, and I am informed that the delegation of the Economic and Financial Section of the League of Nations, now in the United States of America, will concern itself with post-war, as well as current, economic and financial problems.

Mr. Mender

Will the British Government keep in touch with the section concerned and do their best to stimulate them to produce a report?

Mr. Attlee

Certainly, Sir.
