HC Deb 10 October 1940 vol 365 c475
5. Mr. Mander (for Mr. de Rothschild)

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the urgent needs for an issue of mackintoshes and overcoats to volunteer air-raid wardens in the Isle of Ely, the majority of whom are agricultural workers and without the means to provide themselves with protective clothing adequate for their duties; and what steps he proposes to take in order to ensure that this need is met before the onset of severer weather?

Mr. Mabane

Yes, Sir, and I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on Tuesday last to Questions by the hon. Members for Abertillery (Mr. Daggar), Accrington (Major Procter), and Erdington (Wing-Commander Wright).
