§ The Lord Privy Seal (Mr. Attlee)The Business for the next three Sitting days will be:
First Sitting Day: Motions to approve the Purchase Tax (Commencement) Order, and the Timber Charges (No. 2) Order.
Second Sitting Day: Committee stage of a Supplementary Vote of Credit for War Expenditure. Afterwards a Debate will take place on the Scheme for Physical Recreation of Young People.
Third Sitting Day: Report stage of the Supplementary Vote of Credit for War Expenditure. Afterwards a Debate will take place on the Health of the Nation, with special reference to National Health Insurance.
§ Earl WintertonIs my right hon. Friend yet in a position to say whether he can accede to the request that I have made on more than one occasion, on behalf of other hon. Members and myself, that we should have a debate on the contributions of India and the Colonial Empire in men and material towards the Imperial war effort? Also, can he say whether we shall have an opportunity, which has been asked for my right hon. Friend the Member for Devonport (Mr. Hore-Belisha), to discuss the effect of enemy action on the production of munitions?
§ Mr. AttleeI cannot find time immediately for either of those subjects, but the matter is under consideration, and will be borne in mind when an opportunity can be found.
