Mr. De la Bèreasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food, whether he can make some further statement in connection with the advice of the Scientific Food Policy Committee, recently set up in relation to their proposed recommendation for the introduction of additional vitamin B1 and calcium into the bread supply throughout the country.
§ The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Mr. Boothby)The Ministry is now engaged upon the technical preparation which is necessary to carry out the policy to introduce synthetic Vitamin B1 and calcium into the flour supply of the country. It is not possible at present to add to the statement which I made on 18th July when I announced the intentions of the Government to the House.
