§ 52. Mr. Dolandasked the Prime Minister, whether he will review the inadequate amount of pension granted to the recipients of the Victoria Cross who are, or might become, necessitous; and whether the question of a special and additional pension will be granted to the recipients of the George Cross under like circumstances?
§ The Prime MinisterProvision already exists whereby the normal pensions of £10 and £5 awarded to recipients of the Victoria Cross and Bar respectively may, in cases of need, be increased to £75 in all. It is not considered that pensions on this scale are inadequate for the purpose for which they were intended. The position in regard to the George Cross will be examined.
