§ 66. Mr. Lyons
asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called 1825 to the establishment of neighbours' leagues in the city of Leicester and elsewhere; and what steps are being taken to provide essential equipment to supplement that which has been acquired by door to door collections and other voluntary effort so that this work of mutual assistance may be made as effective as possible?
§ Mr. Mabane
Arrangements have already been made for stirrup pumps to be available for groups such as these. Perhaps my hon. and learned Friend will inform me what other articles of equipment he has in mind.
In many parts of the country they have been in existence and have been gladly encouraged by local authorities.
