asked the right hon. and gallant Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, what areas of replanting are being undertaken by the Forestry Commission during the present season in the four Northern counties, respectively?

The acreage to be planted by the Forestry Commission during the present season in the four Northern counties of England is as follows: —Westmorland nil, Durham 390, Cumberland 810 and Northumberland 3,580; total, 4,780.

It is a very substantial proportion of the total of 26,000 acres which will be replanted in Great Britain.
