HC Deb 19 March 1940 vol 358 cc1790-1
20. Mr. Snadden

asked the Secretary of State for War how many instances have been brought to his notice of British soldiers in France being called on to buy woollen garments knitted by voluntary workers, and what action he has taken?

Mr. Stanley

In answering a similar Question by the hon. Member for Pontypool (Mr. A. Jenkins) on 20th February, I said that I would have immediate inquiries made if particulars were forthcoming, but no particulars have been given to me, and I have ascertained that no such cases have come to notice at General Headquarters in France.
