Mr. Manderasked the Minister of Economic Warfare whether he is aware that during recent weeks German interests have intensified their efforts to acquire control of Rumanian oil companies; and that, once this end is achieved, Germany will be able to increase considerably the output of the oilfields under her control; and whether he intends to take steps to prevent Rumanian oil companies from coming under German control?

These efforts are at all times the object of the closest attention of His Majesty's Government.
