HC Deb 06 March 1940 vol 358 cc385-6
64. Mr. Graham White

asked the Minister of Food whether, in view of the proposed increase in the standard ration of butter, he will reconsider his decision with regard to the supply of larger quantities of butter for diabetics?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

Any increase in the butter ration would, of course, be available to diabetics. For the reasons stated in my reply to a Question from the hon. Member on 24th January, I should not be justified in authorising the issue to invalids of any allowance of butter in addition to the prescribed ration.

Sir F. Sanderson

Is my right hon. Friend aware that margarine contains higher food value than butter?
