§ 47. Mr. Viantasked the Prime Minister whether in view of the large number of resolutions received by him from education authorities about the failure of the Ministry of Civil Defence to pay grants in respect of air-raid precautions work for schools, in accordance with the agreements reached with representatives of local authorities and embodied in the Schedule to the Air-Raid Precautions Act of 1937, he will move to appoint a committee of this House to inquire into and report on the understandings reached, and the undertakings given in the negotiations between local authorities, the extent to which those understandings and under takings have been varied, and the justification for such variation?
