asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will give an assurance that no member of the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service shall be sent for service overseas under the age of 20 years?

Mr. Stanley

The minimum age for overseas service for the Auxiliary Territorial Service is 21.

May I ask whether that age limit applies to male members of this Army?

Mr. Stanley

This is the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service, in which there are no male members.
