HC Deb 05 March 1940 vol 358 cc189-90
35 and 36. Colonel Baldwin-Webb

asked the Minister of Economic Warfare (1) whether he is in a position to assure the House that none of the agreements concluded with neutral Governments authorise the latter to import from overseas for the purpose of re-exporting to Germany;

(2) whether the recently concluded Anglo-Belgian Trade Agreement authorises Belgium to re-export to Germany to the limit of her pre-war re-exports to that country or to any considerable extent?

Mr. Cross

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to my answer to the hon. Member for Romford (Mr. Parker) on 20th February, and to the statement which I made on 27th February, to which I have nothing to add.

Colonel Baldwin-Webb

In view of the unfavourable reply, I beg to give notice that I propose to raise the matter at the first opportunity.
