HC Deb 19 June 1940 vol 362 c147
21. Sir J. Lucas

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will arrange that there shall be at least one public wireless set in all main-line railway hotels and others frequented by troops on leave or passing through, in order to ensure that any urgent Government instructions to troops may be brought to their notice without delay in the event of other means of communication being disorganised?

Mr. Law

The method of issuing instructions has received careful consideration, but my hon. and gallant Friend will perhaps agree that it would not be advisable to make a statement on the subject.
