HC Deb 19 June 1940 vol 362 c157
11. Major McCallum (for Mr. Snadden)

asked the Minister of Transport why the Grampian Electric Supply Company are allowed to continue work on their extensive schemes in the districts of Dalwhinnie and Laggan, having regard to the length of time that must elapse before these schemes become productive; the large number of skilled men employed; the quantity of material used; and the need for skilled men and material in the production of essential war munitions?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport (Mr. Montague)

I have looked into this matter, and I am satisfied that the work is fully justified.
