§ 22. Mr. Sorensenasked the Home Secretary whether he will give particulars of all modifications of by-laws affecting the employment of children during school hours since the commencement of the war; and whether he is satisfied that by-laws have been duly enforced in the case of children who have been receiving part-time education?
§ Sir J. AndersonThe employment of children during school hours is prohibited by the Children and Young Persons Act, 1933. By-laws under that Act relate to the employment of children outside school hours and on holidays. No relaxation of the requirements contained in such by-laws has been made since the outbreak of war. As regards the last part of the Question, I have no reason to believe that the requirements of the by-laws are not being enforced.
