HC Deb 05 June 1940 vol 361 c844
35. Mr. Stokes

asked the Minister of Supply whether, in view of the public concern at the fact that the controller of non-ferrous metals is closely connected with the British Metal Corporation, he will state the fee or remuneration paid to that corporation for running the non-ferrous metal control?

Mr. H. Morrison

The fee payable to the British Metal Corporation for the first year is £220,750, subject to a set-off of certain revenue, estimated by the corporation at £90,000, which would have accrued to the company but which will now be received by the Ministry of Supply.

Mr. Stokes

If I put another Question down, will the Minister explain how this fee was arrived at?

Mr. Morrison

If the hon. Gentleman puts another Question down I will consider whether I can answer it, and I will give him the best answer I can.
