§ Sir E. GriggNegotiations are proceeding with representatives of General de Gaulle as to the rates of the emoluments to be fixed for the French volunteers. In the meantime, advances have been issued to them on a provisional basis for the period 1st to 15th July, 1940. Similar negotiations are proceeding with the Poles. In the meantime, advances are being made to Polish troops, and also to Czech troops, from 28th June. In the case of the Norwegian, Dutch and Belgians, payment of their troops is undertaken by the Governments concerned at their own rates.
