HC Deb 18 July 1940 vol 363 c388
64. Mr. Salt

asked the Home Secretary whether he will take steps by legislation or otherwise, to make it a capital crime for a resident of Great Britain to assist a German invading this country by air or by sea?

Sir J. Anderson

Any such action would be an offence against the Treachery Act, 1940, and would therefore be punishable by death.
