HC Deb 18 July 1940 vol 363 cc395-6
53. Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will consider instituting immediately, in consultation with the Minister of Supply, a national working scheme for the collection of waste and the conversion of it into sound food suitable for poultry?

The Minister of Agriculture (Mr. R. S. Hudson)

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave the hon. and learned Member for Greenock (Mr. R. Gibson) on 11th July.

Mr. De la Bère

Is my right hon. Friend not aware that what it requires is a comprehensive, concrete, crystallised scheme to deal with the problem nationally, and is he not aware that the supply of eggs is of national importance to-day, and that it is only being fooled about with at the present time?
