HC Deb 17 July 1940 vol 363 c214
46. Sir H. Williams

asked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the case of Mr. S. F. Florey; and whether, in view of the action of the military authorities in this case, he will give an undertaking that in the event of any courts-martial on civilians under the provisions of the Emergency Powers (Defence) Bill, a barrister of at least seven years standing shall be a member of the court?

The Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department (Mr. Peake)

I have been asked to reply. I would refer my hon. Friend to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary in the course of the Debate yesterday on the Emergency Powers (Defence) Bill.
