HC Deb 02 July 1940 vol 362 c666
49. Rear-Admiral Beamish

asked the Prime Minister whether it is the intention of the Government to continue the enrolment and training of men to the limits of our man-power in view of changed circumstances and the fact that sea-borne invasion on a serious scale is a remote contingency?

Mr. Attlee

I cannot accept the view of my hon. and gallant Friend that present circumstances warrant any relaxation in the efforts of His Majesty's Government to utilise to the full the manpower of the nation.
