HC Deb 30 January 1940 vol 356 c955
15. Mr. Parker

asked the Secretary of State for War what number of men have died from pneumonia and other illnesses at a camp on the East Coast and, after being invalided away from it, since it was taken over by the Army; and what steps are being taken to make it warmer and more serviceable for winter weather?

Mr. Stanley

So far as I have been able to ascertain, there have been no deaths from illness contracted at the camp referred to. Four hundred additional oil stoves are being supplied.

Mr. Parker

Will the right hon. Gentleman go into the particulars of the case if I send them to him?

Mr. Stanley

I shall be very glad to do so if the hon. Member will give me the information indicating the particular camp concerned.
