§ 42. Sir T. Mooreasked the Secretary of State for Scotland the measure of response to his campaign for the creation of war gardens in Scotland giving the 366 numbers of such gardens or allotments by counties?
§ Mr. ColvilleI have been in communication with the 394 town and district councils in Scotland who are responsible for the provision of allotments. Information furnished by the majority of these authorities indicates that they are actively engaged in stimulating and meeting local demands. Precise figures which would show the response to the campaign are not available at this stage.
